My 2021 word for the year...

I read a blog a few years back where someone was talking about their WORD for the year.  I really loved the concept so starting in 2018 I began really thinking about what word I wanted to carry me through the next year. My words have been...

2018- CULTIVATE  My path to business ownership was just a fresh 6 months old and I felt that this word expressed what I wanted to do throughout the year with not only myself but my business, staff, and connections.

2019- FOCUS This year brought with it an effort to focus on the mechanics of the business and my life. The change from employee to ownership had me spread thin and I wanted to make an effort on what was key.

2020-BE A very small word but my reasoning was the need to BE more present in all things.  And boy what a year to BE present in!

for 2021 I have chosen CONSISTENCY, mainly because this is something I struggle with.  I live for change and get bored with repetitive tasks so regularity and uniformity can to me be negative but I'm also aware that for others in my life CONSISTENCY means safety, it means trust, it means their success.

I came across these quotes:

"CONSISTENCY always leads to excellence. What ever you do in life always be CONSISTENT."

"CONSISTENCY and communication is really everything."

"We become what we want by being CONSISTENT."

"Trust is built with CONSISTENCY."

"CONSISTENCY is more important then perfection."

I'm carving out a path for my own CONSISTENCY with these 8 rules...

1) Create a morning routine.
2) Time block, FOCUS and stay on task!
3) Be aware of your mind wandering, ground it until the task is complete.
4) You have permission to ask for uninterrupted time when needed.
5) Don't let self doubt or insecurities sabotage your goals.
6) Do it, even when you don't feel like it.
7) You are a reflection of what you do DAILY not occasionally.
8) Strive for improvement not perfection.

(repeat) (repeat) (repeat) (repeat) (repeat)

Do you have a word for 2021?  I would love to know what it is and even more the WHY behind the word you chose.  As for me I will be over here practicing CONSISTENCY.

Keep living in Grace,
Michele
